Under the supervision of Senior Finance and Grants manager, the function of the position is to ensure the checking and verifying of partner supporting documents. Previous experience in auditing NGOs, companies and international organizations is highly recommended. This position will also be responsible for reconciling and verification of opening/ closing balances in the existing (SAGA) and new accounting System (PeopleSoft).
Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks
Responsibility #1: Checking partners supporting documents:70%
- Checking and verifying partner supporting documents of CARE existing partners. Review includes checking of all invoices + staff cost + contracts + legal documents and status.
- Hold accounting sessions for CBOs based on OCA tool (petty cash , bank reconciliation , accounting system procurement )
- Providing capacity building for partners on supporting documents. This includes organizing weekly/monthly meeting with partners with clear and detailed compliance improvement plan.
- Join partner (BFU) Budget follow up meeting among other CARE members.
- Share monthly partnership progress report with Senior Finance and Grants manager and DCDPS.
- Facilitate partnership opening, review and closure meetings.
- Maintaining proper and professional communication with CARE partners based on Partnership principles of Equality, Complementarity, Transparency, Results Oriented
- Visit to partners premises on regular basis for verification of supporting documents and providing verification report to Senior Grants and Finance Manager.
Responsibility #2: Grants and Finance (30%):
- Support SFGM in budget narrative for new budgets.
- Support partner in budget narrative for new proposal budget.
- Spot check on HR PAR allocation for previous months and update Finance and Compliance officer so action and coordination with other departments.
- Perform internal audit tasks as requested by SGFM to in sure compliance to CARE internal rules and regulations.
- Update monthly IPIA tracker based on FGM inputs
- Compilation and verification of CIL accounts(balances) in SAGA (current system) so that it is ready for carry forward to the new system (Peoplesoft) accurately.
- Providing necessary support to the accounts and grants team during system change over.
Qualifications / special skills or knowledge:
2 Years of Experience in Audit and Accounting + Degree in Finance/Accounting
Skills & Knowledge:
Experience in Conception.
• Extensive knowledge in accounting +auditing
• Extensive experience interacting with and relating to national entities operating in Lebanon.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong internal relationships and networks.
• Motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative and international environment
Experince:
At least 1-3 years of relevant experience, especially auditing and accounting
Langauage:
English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International in Lebanon.
Knowledge of other languages is an asset
