Job Summary:

The MEAL Intern will support the MEAL Unit in delivering the MEAL Program monitoring plan. The MEAL Intern will have a role in implementation of the MEAL activity plans per project, Tools design, data entry, documentation/archiving and additional office work (consolidation of workshop notes- MoM).

Working Conditions:

This position will be located primarily in an office environment in Beirut, with normal travel to Tripoli. Also, frequent visits to the field projects implementation site will be requested. Working areas include but are not limited to: South, Mount Lebanon, Beirut and North Lebanon.

Education

Statistics or related; Social work, Economics, business administration.

Minimum Education Level:

A first level university degree

Proven Experience:

  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles and humanitarian processes
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to liaise with affected communities
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity; experience and ability to live and work in diverse cultural contexts in a culturally appropriate manner; and capacity to make accurate self-assessment particularly in high stress and high security contexts.
  • Experience in similar field/position is an advantage.

IT / Software / Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge and facility with standard office computer systems and software, ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, Power Point, Internet and e-mail skills are a must

Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks

He/ She will perform the following tasks:

  • Support the MEAL Unit in the completion of data collection tools
  • Responsible for regular consolidation of data collection forms and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • In direct coordination with MEAL Officer/Assistant, contribute to weekly/monthly progress reports as needed
  • Assist in data entry of field monitoring forms on data reporting platforms, cleaning, storage
  • Assist in Documentation and Archiving of MEAL templates
  • Assist in Note taking during workshops, trainings, MoM
  • Consolidate field forms and enter necessary data into the relevant databases
  • Assist the MEAL Team in documenting lessons learnt and reports
  • Accompany team while conducting FGDs, field activities whenever necessary
  • Office work – drafting summaries, notes from project teams/partners
  • Assist IM in gathering required data from implementing teams and enter into the database
  • Assist in organizing the designed tools
  • Delivering any other responsibility assigned by supervisor
