CARE is a leading relief and development non-governmental organization fighting global poverty. Established in 1946, it is now a confederation composed of 14 members. In 2012, CARE worked in 84 countries around the world, supporting development and humanitarian aid projects to reach more than 83 million people.
CARE has developed a regional response to the Syrian Crisis to meet the immediate and most urgent needs of the women, men, boys and girls who have fled Syria.
CARE International in Lebanon was first established in Lebanon during the 2006 war and resumed its activity in April 2013 to response to the Syrian Crisis and influx of refugees as well as to support the affected local communities. Today CARE works in WASH, NFIs and Cash assistance in the North and Mount Lebanon Governorates.
The Outreach and distribution assistants will be based in the Chhim field Office. They will be focusing on the NFIs support for newcomers (refugees who have been in the country for less than a month) in line with the Standard Operation Procedures developed by the NFI Sector Working Group.
Under the line management of the Field Officer, the Outreach and distribution assistants will:
- Help identifying the newcomers in the area of intervention through existing network (focal points, key informants etc.) and partners
- Assess the newcomer households through home visits using the standards questionnaire
- Support on data update/management and beneficiary lists
- Organize the distribution of newcomer kits under the management/supervision of the Field Officer
- Distribute the newcomers kits through home visits or in a distribution site
- Help in the identification of complaints and specific cases/needs and refer them following existing referrals mechanisms to NGOs and other actors in the area
- Ensure the proper documentation and filling of all activities and distribution (signature list, update of beneficiary data base, record of complaints etc.)
Requirement
- Bachelor Degree, Technical diploma, degree in social work or relevant experience
- Previous experience in relevant positions (case management, social worker, outreach worker, enumerator etc.)
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles and accountability
- Familiarity with the Lebanese humanitarian context and the Syrian crisis
- Knowledge and facility with standard office computer systems and software
- Arabic : mother tongue ; English : Fluent

- Knowledge of the area (Mount Lebanon, Chouf in particular)
