Fire Safety and Protection consultant

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for highly motivated, experienced individual to work in all aspects of fire safety and protection.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The consultant will work on a series of projects under Baladi Program.

 The consultant will be responsible for the following:

• To provide all necessary fire safety information, or ensure that it is provided, in a format that is accessible, engaging and effective.
• Conduct a workshop on fire safety and protection in relevance to the project (public parks and community centers).
• On-the job training on fire extinguishers and maintenance of subject equipment providing directions and recommendations to staff, stakeholders and community members.
• Provide learning materials, training and guidance to staff and stakeholders on best practices regarding the protection against fires.

JOB TERMS

Short-term Technical Consultant basis (8 hours/day)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Fire safety enforcement experience with a fire and rescue service.
• Substantive continuing professional and personal development, building and maintaining the requisite competence, knowledge and skills necessary to perform this critical role to an exacting standard.
• Extensive relevant experience in enforcement inspection, fire risk management, and provision of fire safety advice
• At least 5 years of similar experience in relevant field is desirable.
• Prior similar responsibility under Donor programs is desirable.
• Have previous experience in Lebanon and previous similar responsibilities in implementing similar context projects and activities.

JOB RELATED SKILLS

• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail
• Ability to successfully initiate and maintain positive relationships with communities and NGOs
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in team environment
• Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic; French is a plus
• Excellent reporting, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer applications skills.
