Agro And Cold Storage Consultant

The BALADI Project is seeking the services of an Agro and cold storage consultant to fully assess the Ainata cold storage facility and train the operations team on best operation practices required to manage the cold storage facility. 1) Consultancy services would cover: * Ensuring the cold storage facility is fully operational and ready/able to receive apples andp other fruits by mid-October 2017. * Capacity building of technical and managerial staff on proper cold storage management (Including but not limited to temperature monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, receiving, sorting, packing, efficient stacking, quality control, labeling, discharging, etc…) * Regular monitoring on weekly basis on the proper implementation of the Standard Operation Procedure * Advising on corrective measures * Reporting findings. 2) TECHNICAL DELIVERABLES The consultant is to submit the following deliverables or as advised by Caritas Lebanon BALADI Program, taking into account the components and objectives of BALADI program. * Assessment of cold storage unit functionality (1 day) * Reporting on corrective measures to be taken before beginning of season if any (1/2 day) * Preparing Standard Operating Procedure manual (2 days) * Training operational team on SOP (1 day) * One day per week periodic visits between October 10th and December 2nd (8 days) * Providing support, guidance and conformity advice towards developing a “Protected Designation of Origin” that would serve as a unique trade mark for Ainata Apples and other fruits(3 days) * Provide a full report of the results, findings and recommendations (1 and 1/2 day)
