Assistant Finance Officer - Sinn El Fil

Objective: 

The Assistant Finance Officer assists in maintaining a satisfactory system of Accounting Standards and accounting record-keeping and providing financial and administrative support to the financial officer.

Duties:

  • Assist the Finance officer in reviewing the partner's financial reports
  • Daily accounting (bookkeeping)
  • Scan/Photocopy payment vouchers to create a backup and to upload them on the system when posting the expenses
  • Ensure proper filing of paperwork for all financial transactions processed
    Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year
  • Control over issued cheques, cash, and transfers to beneficiaries/suppliers
  • Ensure that all cashbooks are reconciled
  • Handle disbursement of all payment requests by entering all transactions in a spreadsheet, correctly and in a timely manner
  • Assist with collecting, reviewing, correcting, and filing all financial progress reports from the partners
  • Prepare all bank letters related to payments, cash withdrawal, and deposit
  • Verify cash payments and ensure that they are properly authorized and supported with sufficient documentary evidence

  • Ability to maintain outstanding working relationships with external and internal sources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Computer Skills:

  • Fully competent and capable of applying accounting software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • A previous experience in dealing with donors is a plus
