Case Management Supervisor Safe Shelters

Duties and responsibilities

Establish and manage case management process in the shelters (50%)

  • Oversee case management (including follow up on referrals and action plans) and support services provided to SGBV survivors and persons facing high protection risks hosted in Caritas Safe Shelters
  • Initiate planning for longer-term SGBV and high protection incident prevention and response activities, including referral pathway and standard operating procedures
  • Closely work with caseworkers and ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards in SGBV prevention and response
  • Participate in the design of project activities, monitoring systems and capacity building activities for partners, community member and survivors
  • Ensure systematic means by which persons at risk can be identified, and their needs assessed
  • Lead monthly case conferences between social workers, psychologists, volunteers, medical and legal staff on each case
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders.

Improve livelihood-related shelter activity participation and outcomes (40%)

  • Integrate skills assessment into the beneficiaries’ registration process with the aim of identifying relevant livelihood related strategies
  • Ensure all activities are focused on and aligned with the outcomes
  • Lead training and support to case workers and facilitators to adopt adult learning techniques to improve outcomes
  • Coordinate with Shelter management to evaluate the use of incentive payments for participation in activities, lead efforts to roll out this system in Shelters
  • Assist with the development and facilitation of financial management and household budgeting workshop tools
  • Lead facilitation of financial management and household budgeting workshop in Shelters
  • Work with Shelter management to consider other opportunities to build personal growth and fill gaps in skills to facilitate a positive transition from the shelter environment
  • Facilitate the exit from the shelters through establishing livelihood linkages and referrals to relevant (I)NGOs, agencies etc.

Monitoring and Reporting (10%)

  • Assist with data collection and analysis of livelihoods and life skills and experience. Make recommendations on programming aligned with findings
  • Submit quality reports as scheduled including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual reports

Minimum Qualification & Competencies

  • Degree in Social Work, Humanitarian Assistance, International Human Rights, Law or other related field
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in protection or social work with a demonstrated focus on GBV program design and implementation
  • Awareness and knowledge of GBV issues, knowledge, skill and experience in participatory methods for community education and mobilization.
  • Excellent facilitation, training and research skills
  • Diplomacy and assertiveness; the ability to confront and discuss sensitive issues with respect
  • Good communication skills, with good spoken and written English. Arabic a strong advantage
  • Excellent report writing, research documentation and presentation skills
