Copywriter/Editor Consultant - Baladi Project

OBJECTIVE:

The Copywriter/Editor Consultant will be responsible of editing, copywriting and proofreading draft documents to be presented to the donor. He/she is supposed to produce final documents to be written in a journalistic and accessible style and disseminated to the donor and to the communities, as well as to review communication material to be presented to the donor

 

DUTIES:

  • Edit, copy-edit and proof-read documents and required forms for Donor
  • Edit, proofread and assist in drafting speeches in English and Arabic
  • Review and re-edit any communication material to be presented to Donor
  • Review and copy edit the draft of the closing report of program
  • Copy-edit the weekly highlights and reports sent to the donor
  • Translate from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic is preferable

 

SKILLS:

Business Skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully initiate and maintain positive relationships with communities and NGOs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic; French is a plus
  • Excellent reporting, communication and interpersonal skills

Computer Skills

  • Good computer applications skills

 

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • At least 7 years of similar experience in relevant field as a copy-editor of strategy documents, public policy and / or other types of corporate communication
  • Excellent Arabic and English language writing and editing
  • Prior similar responsibility under Donor programs is desirable
  • Proven, extensive experience editing, compiling copy for a range of audiences.
