JOB SUMMARY
The Psychosocial Support Officer will be responsible to manage the overall psychosocial program (under Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence) and provide technical support to PSS Workers. The PSS Officer will be responsible for the supervision and support of the basic CP and GBV PSS and targeted PSS activities in the community and in outreach activities. The PSS officer will support the development of PSS material and will provide the training and coaching to his/her PSS team. The PSS Officer ensures regular monitoring and on-site coach visits. As for the focused PSS and specialized PSS activities, the PSS officer will work closely with the Case Management (CM) team.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the development of PSS related tools
• Supervise and evaluate PSS activities on the field including: life skills trainings, awareness and PSS activities
• Support the PSS Workers and center coordinators in planning, drafting the proposals and implementing special occasion activities
• Contribute to establishing and implementing operational work plans, setting clear targets and activity plans for ongoing project for the PSS component
• Review targets/achievements on weekly basis
• Ensure quality of implementation through weekly field visits
• Conduct weekly meetings with PSS workers to ensure target, impact, challenges and requests follow-up
• Review Awareness and PSS sessions content
• Monitor Awareness and PSS Sessions and ensure they are in line with the approved content
• Ensure that data on Dynamics, donor’s reporting tool, monthly and weekly reports are matching
• Follow-up on recruitment of trainers and their payment cycles
• Submit biweekly schedules and all respected requests to the donor representative
• Attend management committee meetings and focus group discussions held to assess PoC’s needs
• Attend sector coordination relevant meetings
• Provide direct psychosocial support and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the PoC
• Conduct all PSS activities with the PoC when needed
• Respect PoC’s confidentiality
• Address needs and requests in a professional way
• Report any incident or act that causes any harm to PoC or to others
• Adhere to all quality standards and procedures
• Contribute in ongoing field assessments and data collection as required
• Collaborate with partners and other agencies when required
• Coordinate with the M&E officer to participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the program
• Work closely with the CM officer for referral purposes
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
• Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
• Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
• Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
• Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor Degree in Psychology / Social Work − Master’s degree is a plus
• Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
• Related Work Experience: − 3 to 5 years of experience in related field − Experience in the field of Psychology and vulnerability/disability
• Language skills: English and Arabic
• Computer Literacy: MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
