Education Officer - ML

JOB SUMMARY

The Education Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing all project procedures and facilitate the effective, successful planning, and implementation of the program activities and other tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinator. She/He shall be responsible for setting all educational curriculums for different programs and levels, including Remote or in person Retention Support. Alongside, will have to adapt MEHE’s curriculums to cater for the needs of IDP children residing in or out collective shelters.

DUTIES

  • Supervise and evaluate activities on the field
  • Participate in the planning of the education activities including focus groups, awareness sessions, trainings, and others
  • Prepare educational curriculums for IDP students along with preparing educational materials and curriculums adapted from MEHE to cater for the special needs of students based on their academic level and learning gaps
  • Providing timely and detailed reporting of project activities
  • Participate in coordination meetings with national and international institutions and education working group where appropriate
  • Compile and analyze the outcome of the project monitoring and evaluation data
  • Facilitate the implementation of the project (particularly /retention support) under the supervision of the project coordinator
  • Contribute in ongoing field assessments and data collection as required
  • Ensure quality implementation of project through regular visits to the field and ensures accuracy and confidentiality of data and the serious follow up of available guidelines.
  • Ensure that data is accurately collected on a daily/weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor the execution of projects on the field and support staff in completing the assigned tasks
  • Receive and accompany donors during field visits and attend meetings when requiredFile and retrieve project and supporting documents, records and reports related to the project
  • Keep track of referrals
  • Actively participate to all project meetings and prepare the minutes of meeting and follow up on the action plans
  • Report to the Project Coordinator on a daily basis the targets reached, activities progress, obstacles, gaps, needs, complaints, etc.
  • Quality check, consolidation and diffusion of the reporting/request tools
  • Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
  • Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
  • Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
  • Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences, Sociology, Animation or any related field
  • Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills, Communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in related field
  • English and Arabic
  • MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
