Job Title: Finance Officer
Basic Function: purpose and scope
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Duties performed:
Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Review expense for accuracy and completeness and ensure that expense reports respect the project’s budget and terms.
Prepares monthly financial statements, including distributing monthly revenue and expenditure reports to departments
Produce regular financial reports including cash-flow, balance sheets and income statements & present them to the relevant staff members with observations and recommendations.
Prepare and review financial reports to donors.
Ensure that rules and regulations are followed, particularly with regards to donor regulations.
Ensure adequate liquidity management
Reconcile all accounts with bank statements and follow-up on any discrepancies.
Ensure that all official obligations are met, in particular the payment of taxes, VAT, etc.
Help prepare the Institution’s budget.
