Fundraising and Donor Engagement Consultant

DUTIES:

  • Sensitize and train Trocaire’ partners on Fundraising and Donor engagement, including but not limited to tips on becoming a fundraiser, what is a fundraising strategy and its key

components, competition, fundraising funnel, steps to finding the right donor, profiling of donors and donor matching.

  • Supporting partners to compile and maintain a database of international and donor organizations operating in Lebanon (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations) 
  • Initiate, coach, and mentor partners key staff to draft their fundraising strategies, customized as per their areas of operations, sectoral and operational priorities.
  • Finalize and shadow the rollout of partner fundraising strategies, internally within their teams and externally as relevant.
  • Support Trocaire and partners in developing relevant M&E tools to a) measure the transferred knowledge on Fundraising, donor engagement and Grants management, b) identify additional gaps among partner’s capacity and knowledge related to the subjects, and c) shadow the partners during the preparation of roject proposals that will be submitted in the future to Trócaire and its donors.

Experience / Skills:

Applicants must demonstrate how they meet the following requirements:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic – French is a plus 
  • Strong skills in writing and editing. 
  • Ability to edit or rewrite sections of proposals to ensure readability and adherence to win themes 
  • Relevant professional experience and technical knowledge to carry out the intended work
  • Degree in a related field of study
  • Proven record of successfully managing similar consultancies with NGOs/INGOs.  
  • Excellent English and Arabic writing skills (including reports and publications).
  • Proficient spoken English and Arabic language skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of best practices in documenting lessons learned for development projects.
  • Experience working with international NGOs and civil society organisations.
  • Excellent time management skills, with an ability to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels. 
  • Solid understanding of standard corporate proposal formats and templates. 
  • Must be detail oriented and can work successfully in a fast-paced environment on multiple priority projects.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of programme participants, as demonstrated by signing Trócaire’s Safeguarding Programme Participants Policy.

Application Submission Guidelines

Consultants meeting the above criteria should submit a proposal marked “Lessons Learned Consultancy, Lebanon” by e-mail to tenders@trocaire.org by 23rd of October 2022.

Proposals should include the following:

  • The CV of the consultant(s), outlining relevant experience, accomplishments, and contact information of 2 references.
  • A written technical and financial proposal, outlining the proposed content, schedule/work plan and the consultant’s proposed fees/daily rate, with justification.
  • Conflict of interest statement: Applicants should state clearly whether they have an actual or potential conflict of interest with the staff, volunteers, and/or board of Trócaire.

Each technical proposal will be evaluated based on technical quality; background and experience of the consultant; and value for money.
