Head Nurse

The Head Nurse is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the work at the PHCC, and ensuring that effective care is being provided to the beneficiary

DUTIES

  • Provide nursing services and treatments
  • Provide case management by being the contact person for beneficiaries
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients and families, and determine the need for consultations with other services and health-care providers
  • Provide basic education and information to beneficiaries and families
  • Provide awareness sessions to beneficiaries and families about health issues
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports and patient records
  • Document accurate and pertinent patient information in a timely manner, including maintaining a comprehensive health summary
  • Safeguard health of children by effecting school health programs
  • Assist the physicians in their consultations when needed
  • Communicate with secondary and tertiary providers to ensure the continuity of care
  • Complete referrals, lab requisitions and diagnostic requisitions
  • Adapt the work and services provided at the PHCC according to the ongoing projects
  • Control the stock of the center, and make sure that equipment and other supplies are in stock
  • Delegate safely and appropriately, and supervise team members
  • Plan and deliver teaching for staff, students, beneficiaries and families
  • Participate in training, orientation, competency assessment and education of new employees
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately, creating a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel
  • Act in a professional manner, reflecting the mission of Caritas Primary health care Center, and demonstrate compliance with all policy and procedures
  • Collaborate with the management on a regular basis
  • Prepare and present monthly reports
  • Attend meetings with the management

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 5 to 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience with NGO is a plus
  • Experience in community health is a plus
