MEAL Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The MEAL Manager will ensure monitoring & evaluation (M&E) tools are developed and implemented to make proper and effective programmatic and managerial decisions, with accountability and learning adhered and advocated at the organizational level; in addition, he/she works to identify new funding opportunities and leads the process of planning, organizing, and coordinating with concerned departments to develop and expand Caritas Lebanon’s programmes and portfolios in-line with CL’s strategic mission & vision and national/local humanitarian context

 

DUTIES:

  • Review, analyse and share the results of the performance monitoring conducted to projects with the directors and head of programs
  • Review and convey to the senior management the challenges of projects and the recommendations provided by the MEAL unit to solve them
  • Review finalized logical frameworks established for projects
  • Ensure that the MEAL unit is properly coordinating with all the concerned parties involved in the implementation of projects to establish MEAL plans 
  • Review the M&E methodologies proposed by MEAL team/staff
  • Monitor the performance and conduct of the MEAL staff members in the field and report the finding to the General Director
  • Review the Evaluation reports for projects
  • Ensure that the MEAL unit is adequately supporting project coordinators in collecting and reporting data to the donors 
  • Identify bottlenecks in procedures, practices or activities and recommend improvements
  • Review, and if needed, amend the Key performance indicators established for Caritas’ departments and units

  • Ability to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders
  • Excellent command of written English

 

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience in program design and M&E plan development
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant work experience
