Medical Social Worker

Objective:

The Medico Social worker works with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children and adults, are safeguarded from harm and receive the health and social services they need. Their role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocates

Duties:

  • Provide listening, support, and counseling services to Lebanese beneficiaries (men and women), Syrian refugees, and others
  • Fill a file for each beneficiary and integrate all related information into the system
  • Decide on the eligibility criteria of beneficiaries to be provided the IP services
  • Refer beneficiaries to relevant NGOs and/or service providers when needed
  • Conduct home visits to assess the needs of the HH and to ensure adequate follow up
  • Conduct field visits depending on the follow-up to be provided to each beneficiary
  • Conduct working groups with women, men, and children
  • Accompany beneficiaries during various activities
  • Ensure proper follow up on all actions to be considered for individual/family cases till achieving desired results
  • Refer eligible cases to services within the project or within the center as required
  • Report to Secondary Healthcare coordinator
  • Report to the Head of Healthcare Department the critical cases for final approval on the actions to be taken
  • Prepare progress monthly reports on cases of beneficiaries and on activities implemented
  • Update weekly the beneficiaries list
  • Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
  • Assess, plan and implement activities in coordination with the Head of the Department
  • Coordinate with other partners/stakeholders in the regions to avoid duplication and provide better services
  • Work occasionally on weekends and/or afternoons/evenings to attend Bureau meetings, community events or to organize activities for various beneficiaries.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the Health Senior Grants Coordinator, Secondary Healthcare coordinator, and Head of Department
  • Perform administrative and secretarial support functions
  • Responsible for CARITAS visibility
  • Responsible for implementing/translating CARITAS' mission
