JOB SUMMARY
The Protection Officer is responsible for the technical supervision and coordination of all cash-related activities including case management for persons with special needs (PwSN). S/he will ensure that training and capacity building needs of PWSN case workers are addressed in a timely manner and that the protection services and activities meet quality standards in the sector. The Protection Officer supervises the case management supervisors.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that the internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on case management are applied, and updating/revising it based on needs
- Provide Capacity Building and Case Management trainings forfor the PWSN case workers to ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards for national protection group prevention and response
- Monitor the provision of protection cash assistance programs and review the reporting steps
- Support in the design and implementation of a service mapping
- Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services
- Represent CL in all the coordination meeting Protection Working Group (PWG) at regional level
- Supervise if the case management supervision tools are being utilized and filled correctly by the case management supervisors and guide the case management supervisors when needed
- Ensure and monitor the correct documentation of cases through review of files and databases
- Ensure confidentiality of information and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected
- Review staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable and share challenges with the Protection Coordinator
- Ensure the dissemination of information from the protection coordinator to CM team
- Ensure any concerns are reported and addressed immediately
- Monitor/assess the safety and security of oneself consistently and proactively
- Join Field staffs in monitoring protection issues affecting Refugees and Lebanese host community
- Undertake spot check field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitoring of the progress of the protection project activities
- Report concerns or incidents to management promptly and liaise with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for programs
- Field visits (once/ week) to Beirut offices
- Other duties as assigned by the Protection Coordinator

- Good communication skills, with good spoken and written English. Arabic is a strong advantage

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Bachelor degree in Social Work, Human Rights, International relations or any related field.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 2 years work experience in protection, social work or related field
- Demonstrated experience and training in staff management and team capacity building
