Psychologist- Akkar

The Psychologist will provide psychological support to beneficiaries through individual counseling and/or group therapies   DUTIES Provide psychological services for migrants and refugees Provide individual (adults, adolescents and children), family, and/or group psychotherapy  Provide clinical interviews, diagnosis, reports and recommendations Help individuals with experienced emotional difficulties & mentally disturbed functions cope better Provide direct psychosocial support and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments Interface with families, treatment team members and case management Conduct discussion group, focus group with individuals, families Conduct group therapies Conduct psychosocial activities Conduct awareness sessions with beneficiaries Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level Address needs and requests in a professional way Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others Always respect a refusal of treatment SKILLS Adaptation to specific working conditions Capacity to work in a team and autonomously Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team Capacity to work under high pressure Willingness to learn new skills and/or approaches Good capacity to interact with members of the team and different communities Ability to maintain outstanding working relationships with external and internal sources Ability to show initiative and take responsibility Excellent oral and written communication skills Specialized understanding and scientific approach to human behavior, cognitive performance, mental illness and psychosocial problems Ability to choose, conduct and report on psychological testing and assessments for diagnosis and treatment planning (for example mental health assessments) Ability to engage in case formulation, treatment delivery and final outcome evaluation processes An evidence-based approach to psychological interventions (for example: cognitive behavior therapy) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills
