Senior HR Officer

The Senior Human Resources Officer supports the operations of the organization by providing an effective and professional HR service covering the full generalist remit: organizational structure, employment, compensation, employee database maintenance, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, orientation/training/development, and policy/procedure development, retention and succession planning.

 

The SHRO manages the front line Human Resources Team to deliver an effective, efficient and legally

1. DUTIES (Duties are tasks related to achieving the work requirements by this position)

HR Operations

  • Develop and implement HR strategy in line with the organization strategy
  • Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
  • Act as a business partner and provide dashboards/analytics to management and department heads to help them have a pulse of their team
  • Prepare a yearly HR budget and manage costs
  • Ensure all staff receive a yearly performance appraisal in accordance with organization procedure
  • Direct the implementation of the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure maintenance and accuracy of HR data

 

Recruitment

  • Manage human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff
  • Coordinates and facilitates on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Send job offers for new recruits
  • Monitor the performance of new recruits during probationary period in cooperation with department heads
  • Handling the exit reports and the exit interviews

 

Compliance

  • Ensure that existing Human Resource Policies, Procedures and Staff Handbook are updated in line with statutory requirements, good practice and the agreed review timetable and that new policies or procedures are introduced as necessary. Keep self and team up to date with employment law and relevant codes of practice
  • Ensure all job descriptions are kept up to date, and create new JDs when necessary

 

Training and development

  • Work closely with top management to identify high potential employees, and develop career programs for those important to the growth of the organization
  • Drive an effective learning and development agenda that impacts the employees and the organization
  • Conduct employee engagement surveys to collate insights at workplace, and recommend necessary actions for improvement
  • Develop succession plan for key positions

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Review all staff salaries and make recommendations for pay increases in consultation with management team, and according to the grading system
  • Develop retention strategy, compensation and benefits procedures
  • Prepare the monthly exit table for resigned employees
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and to deadline (including deductions, bonuses and transportations)
