BACKGROUND:
Cedar Centre for Legal Studies is a civil, non-profit centre established in Lebanon in 2013, registered under No. 609. Cedar Centre is dedicated to promoting democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Our vision is to see Lebanon as a country that respects the rights of its citizens and residents through democracy, social justice, human rights, and adherence to the rule of law.
At Cedar Centre for Legal Studies, our mission is to serve as a beacon of legal enlightenment and advocacy. We are committed to pursuing justice and aim to elevate the understanding and application of legal principles, fostering a society where the rule of law is a lived reality.
Our work is organized into thematic units, each focusing on specific areas of legal studies through in-depth research, education, and advocacy:
1. Human Rights, Social Justice, and Legal Empowerment Unit.
2. Mediation, Arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Unit.
3. Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) and Rehabilitation for Victims of Torture Unit.
4. Comparative Legal Systems and Global Governance Unit.
CCLS regularly follows up on numerous cases of enforced disappearance, arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture.
CCLS currently has an office near Al Nour Square, Tripoli, Lebanon and is looking to open a new office in Tripoli.
CCLS is aiming to enhance sustainable access to rehabilitation services and justice for Victims of Torture and their relatives in the North of Lebanon.
Duties and Responsibilities:
CCLS is aiming to open a new center in Tripoli providing rehabilitation services for victims of torture.
The Psychologist will report directly to the Center Coordinator.
The main duties include:
•    Conduct psychological assessments and provide therapy to victims of torture.
•    Develop and implement treatment plans.
•    Provide crisis intervention and support.
•    Collaborate with other team members to ensure holistic care.
•    Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
Qualifications and Education:
•    Master’s degree in Psychology or related field.
•    Licensed to practice as a psychologist.
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience in trauma counseling.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Fluency in Arabic and English.
Location:
The Psychologist is based in the new office of CCLS in Tripoli.
