Facilitator for a Business Online Course

The Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service at the American University of Beirut is launching a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) entitled “Introduction to Business management” for Syrian refugee youth and underserved host community.  This online course comes under the Partnership for Digital Learning and Increased Access (PADILEIA) and is developed by King’s College London.

This project is funded by UK aid from the British people through SPHEIR (Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform) in partnership with King’s College London, Al Al Bayt University (Jordan), Kiron Open Higher Education (Germany), and FutureLearn (UK).

Job description:

  • Facilitate 6 hours per week online, using the Zoom Application, for a class of 30 students
  • Facilitating the online learning experience for the learners
  • Guide the students throughout the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
  • Preparing the lesson plan for every day session, relavant to the MOOC’s subject
  • Explain unclear Business concepts
  • Assisting students in English terminologies and offering technical support
  • Reporting to the Project Coordinator on a bi-weekly basis

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor/master’s degree in business management or any related field
  • Excellent English skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching. Preferably with online learning
  • Previous experience with refugees or vulnerable communities
