Online Course Facilitator - English for Healthcare

The Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service  at the American University of Beirut  is implementing a blended college-readiness program that prepares Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese youth for entry into higher education. This program provides massive open online course in the aim to prepare Syrian and Lebanese youth to enter higher education. This project is funded by UK aid from the British people through SPHEIR in partnership with King’s College London, Al Al Bayt University (Jordan), Kiron Open Higher Education (Germany) and FutureLearn (UK). 

The facilitator will be responsible of: 

- Facilitating the English for Healthcare Massive Open Online course for 4 to 8 hours per week at the PADILEIA study center in Bar Elias for a class of 15 to 20 students

-  Guiding students through the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) 

 - Preparing blended activities in relation to the online content

- Assisting students in English terminologies and offering technical support

Requirements:

 - A bachelor/master’s degree in nursing and healthcare, biology or any related field

- Excellent English skills

- Excellent computer skills

- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching. Preferably with online learning  

- Previous experience with refugees or vulnerable communities
