Lebanon Support Cordially invites you to a talk on: The Electoral Law and Process in Lebanon Within the current debate on electoral reform in Lebanon, a proportional or mixed law – which had been a demand by civil society in Lebanon – is for the first time seriously taken into consideration. This talk will address the different dimensions of the discussion on the reform of the Lebanese parliamentary electoral law, and will look into the necessary measures to ensure democratic elections, the role of civil society and the impact of its past and current mobilisations on the process of electoral reform in Lebanon. With discussant: Ali Mourad, PhDAssistant Professor in Public Law at the Beirut Arab University (BAU), Affiliated to the European Recherche Center of Rennes (CEDRE), Rennes-France,Member of the Administrative Board of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE). The Talk will be held in Arabic, with possibility of discussion in English.
