About Lebanon Support
Lebanon Support is an independent non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-profit making information and research center. Established in 2006, Lebanon Support was registered as a National Non-Governmental Organization in November 2008 (registered under the number 168/2009 AD). Lebanon Support aims at enhancing civil society capacity, efficiency and effectiveness through the creation of public spaces for reflection, collaboration and debate on and for civil society in Lebanon.
Lebanon Support adopts a multidisciplinary approach and evidence and fact based methodologies in civil society work in Lebanon so as to support and develop a civic voice and a better impact towards better accountability and societal change in Lebanon.
Within this framework Lebanon Support focuses on information and knowledge sharing and management, production and delivery; as it is within Lebanon Support’s beliefs, that information and knowledge are at the heart of developing adequate strategies and interventions to reduce existing vulnerabilities and marginalization in the country.
Background
Lebanon Support has launched the Civil Society Knowledge Centre in 2013 and is conducting, in collaboration with several partners several documentation, research and analysis activities under different thematics, in order to create a working knowledge-base for civil society actors in Lebanon, which will serve as a baseline for political, social and contextual analysis of the different conditions and situations that the country is facing.
Main Tasks
1) Project Coordination, Management and Monitoring
Provide coordination, effective management, and leadership to the Lebanon Support programmes, mainly the Civil Society Knowledge Centre, to achieve the greatest impact possible;
Ensure projects’ team and counterparts are continuously involved, consulted and informed of ongoing progress;
Manage the overall programme by planning and tracking project activities in accordance with the projects agreements;
Establish work plans, set performance targets and indicators, and identify challenges and strategies to achieve project aims in coordination with the relevant team members;
Support the Head of Research in management and research design, and in implementing all research activities in collaboration with the external collaborators and researchers.
2) Grants Management
Participate in Lebanon Support’s resource mobilization efforts;
Track deliverables and communicate the project's progress to the Head of Research as well as external partners and donors;
Lead on the coordination, preparation, and submission of donor reports, under the supervision of the Head of Research and in collaboration with the other Lebanon Support units;
Review financial progress, identify realignments where needed, and ensure resources are being effectively and efficiently used;
Ensure implementation is in compliance with Lebanon Support’s internal policies as well as donors’ policies and procedures.
3) Coordination and Representation
Represent Lebanon Support with partner organisations, and government officials;
Act as focal point and liaison between Lebanon Support’s different programmes and units as well as other stakeholders, where necessary;
Coordinate and work closely with research partners in collaboration with the Communication and content manager and the Head of Research;
4) Technical Support
Identify synergies as well as opportunities across Lebanon, the region and globally, to enhance opportunities for knowledge sharing as per Lebanon Support’s mandate and liaise with research centres, universities and think tanks;
Contribute to the development and review of programme related internal materials, tools;
Contribute to the the review of publications for quality and consistency prior to dissemination.
Requirements
Master’s degree in social sciences (political science, sociology, anthropology, Non Profit management among others) is a minimum requirement;
More than five years professional experience in the fields of programme management in non-profits or academia including financial management;
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a programme including different projects, teams, partners, donors and audiences;
Fluency in English, and Arabic are minimum requirements. Knowledge of French is highly desirable;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public presentation skills, and a very strong capacity for effective teamwork;
Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
