CESVI is an Italian secular and independent humanitarian organization, founded in Bergamo (Italy) in 1985 and operative in Lebanon since 2001.From 2001 until 2011 CESVI focused its effort in the livelihoods sector. Since 2013 it has been responding to the spillover of the Syrian Crisis in the country through emergency interventions in favour of vulnerable refugee and Lebanese families.
CESVI is currently working in the Livelihood and Protection sectors.
SAFEGUARDING: CESVI has a zero-tolerance approach to any harm to, or exploitation of, a child or a vulnerable adult by any of our staff, related persons or partners. CESVI commitment to being a safe organization begins with the staff recruitment process which includes meticulous checks, such as criminal records check or check disclosure of previous convictions, to ensure children and vulnerable people are safeguarded and abuse is prevented. Safeguarding checks are part of the selection proccess.
The community outreach daily worker will support the implementation of education and child protection activities in BML. The selected candidates will support in reaching out to children and families for PSS activities and supporting in emergency contexts in shelters. Additionally, they will support in raising awareness to public school parent committees whenever applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reach out to vulnerable families in the targeted areas for awareness sessions, information sessions and vulnerability assessments.
Deliver PSS and recreational sessions to children and caregivers in and out of shelters.
Provide awareness sessions to parent committees at schools
Refer children/families to requested services according to the interagency guidelines
Ensure that all activities are in line with CESVI’s child safe guarding principles
Ensure that outreach activities are in line with the project’s targets and objectives
Record information as per guidelines received
Report high-risk incidents and/or challenging situations and bottlenecks to the education coordinator
Other tasks agreed upon with the line manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in social science or relevant experience
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and RELATED COMPETENCIES:
Previous experience in Outreach
Previous experience of work in diverse communities
Previous experience in PSS facilitation.
Previous experience in working with children in similar activities, following safeguarding measures and applying child protection minimum standards
Committment to at least 2 days/week for field activties
OTHER SKILLS:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data collection tools, including Kobo/ODK/ONA/survey123 or other relevant tools
In addition, applicants must be skilled in the use of Spreadsheets, Word processing, calendar, e-mail and data entry. They should also be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to establish positive relationships with people at all levels; to show sensitivity and integrity.
Fluent in Arabic and English.
