Data Collectors - Roster

CESVI is looking for Data Collectors to support the MEAL Department and the Project Management Unit of the project Tamkeen through collection of data (on the field and over the phone) with MSMEs and KI based in the area of Iqlim el Kharroub, aimed at developing a comprehensive Market Assessment, as well as to support the team for further needs assessments to be launched for proposals development and covering different regions of the country.  

Data collectors are expected to conduct qualitative and quantitative surveys, Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions. Data collectors will work under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator and the Program Managers. The intervention areas and governorates might change according to the project needs. 

This role requires strong communication and culturally-sensitive skills to conduct assessment with MSMEs and KI, as well as organizational skills to align with the timeline given and the required structure in collecting, entering and reporting data.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the outreach process for MSMEs operating in the agri-food and/or tourism sector based on the project criteria within the selected geographical area for the ongoing CESVI intervention in Iqlim El Kharroub El Chemali, through door-to-door data collection if needed, and by collecting data through phone interviews; 
  • Support in socio-economic profiling assessment on the field with MSMEs under the guidance of the MEAL department and Business Development Expert; 
  • Support the Business Development Expert with Key Informant Interviews (KII); 
  • Support in the conduction of Focus Group Discussions with MSMEs and KI; 
  • Answering phone calls, providing general information about the project and following up with the previous contacted KII/MSMEs;  
  • Organize and perform assessments via phone interviews and work on information systems/database to record relevant data of beneficiaries and to add referrals;  
  • Ensure assessment data is correctly entered, reviewed and validated;  
  • Create spreadsheets to track data and information; 
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and update data information in database;  
  • Ensure the classification and good archiving of each interviewee’s file and ensure data protection of the collected information;  
  • Provide regular updates on the assessment progress to the MEAL Manager as and when needed;  
  • Report any incidents and challenges encountered to improve the quality of operations or approaches used; 
  • Report ant feedback and complaint received through the proper channels; 
  • Provide occasional administrative support. 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES 

  • Academic Diploma or University degree in a business-related field, socioeconomic development, market development studies, administration, statistics, or any other related majors, or equivalent work experience 
  • IT skills: Microsoft Office package, especially Excel and Word; calendar, email; Spreadsheet
  • Good knowledge of data collection tools, including Kobo/ODK/ONA/survey123, or other relevant data collection tools; 
  • Good experience in conducting surveys using quantitative and qualitative questionnaires such as key informants’ interviews, Pre-tests, Post-tests, Post-Distribution Monitoring questionnaires and Focus Group Discussions;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to establish positive relationships with people at all levels; to show sensitivity and integrity. 
  • Arabic language: native 
  • English language: fluent written and spoken  

 

2. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in relevant field with NGOs or private sector in international organizations and humanitarian settings, or in data collection;
  • Relevant experience in conducting surveys (remotely and in-person) using quantitative and qualitative questionnaires, such as key informants’ interviews, pre-tests, post-tests, Post-Distribution Monitoring questionnaires and Focus Group Discussions.

4. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid vehicle driving license
