Project Manager

Project Overview:

The project called ‘Youth Empowerment for Social Impact (YESI)’ is funded by the European Union and implemented by CESVI in partnership with the local NGO Al Majmoua. The action pursues as overall objective the promotion of youth empowerment through inclusive, innovative and sustainable models of social entrepreneurship and as specific objective it aims to enable youth in Lebanon to develop and upscale innovative business initiatives through enhanced capacities, increased access to finance and active participation into multi-stakeholder dialogues on inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Duties/responsibilities:

• The Project Manager reports to the Head of Mission;
• S/he is responsible for the entire project implementation;
• S/he will manage liaisons with the other NGOs and stakeholders involved in the project;
• S/he will manage liaisons with donor, local concerned authorities, private sector, civil society associations and other counterparts whenever required;
• S/He will directly plan programs activities (Capacity Building for Young leaders and social entrepreneurs, Capacity Building on Impact Investing for Microfinance Institutions, Sub-granting to Youth-led social enterprises, knowledge-sharing initiatives, campaigns and events);
• S/He will directly coordinate the intervention with the other consortium members;
• S/He will work in budgeting, forecast and control of financial flows and planning;
• S/He will directly be responsible of field staff recruitment and coordination;
• S/He will conduct necessary training /mentoring /coaching for project staff the team on an ongoing basis;
• S/He will guarantee that all the activities are in line with Donor, Consortium and Cesvi procedures and rules;
• S/He will actively participate to coordination platforms and Sector Working Groups;
• S/He will contribute to the drafting of new project proposals in coordination with HQ and the field.

Required Competencies and Qualities:

• University-advanced degree in Social Sciences, political Sciences and related fields
• At least 3 years of experience in managing and coordinating programs
• Proven experience in working in consortium
• Good communication and diplomatic skills, and demonstrated experience in networking and building effective partnerships
• Capacity to work independently, strong strategic and creative thinking
• Ability to make effective decisions under time pressure
• Very flexible, result-oriented and with a positive attitude
• Good team player, proactive and problem-solver
• Honest, trustworthy and respectful
• With cultural awareness and sensitivity to needs of vulnerable populations
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Arabic

Desirable Competencies:

• Previous experience in Livelihood, Social Entrepreneurship, Impact Finance
• Good knowledge of the area of intervention
• Experience with/knowledge of the Donor (European Union)
