CESVI is an Italian secular and independent humanitarian organization, founded in Bergamo (Italy) in 1985 and operative in Lebanon since 2001. From 2001 until 2011 CESVI focused its effort in the livelihoods sector. Since 2013 it has been responding to the spillover of the Syrian Crisis in the country through emergency interventions in favor of vulnerable refugee and Lebanese families. CESVI is currently working in the Livelihood and Education Sector. CESVI is currently responding to the emergency context through several activities supporting IDPs.
SAFEGUARDING: CESVI has a zero-tolerance approach to any harm to, or exploitation of, a child or a vulnerable adult by any of our staff, related persons or partners. CESVI commitment to being a safe organization begins with the staff recruitment process which includes meticulous checks, such as criminal records check or check disclosure of previous convictions, to ensure children and vulnerable people are safeguarded and abuse is prevented. Safeguarding checks are part of the selection process.
The Social Worker (PSS Facilitator) is responsible for planning, facilitating, and reporting on structured psychosocial support sessions for children and caregivers as part of CESVI’s protection and education program. The sessions aim to strengthen emotional well-being, coping mechanisms, and social skills of children and caregivers affected by displacement, conflict, or social vulnerability, following CESVI’s approved psychosocial methodologies and safeguarding standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Psychology or Social Work is mandatory
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years experience delivering FPSS, MHPSS and/or CBPSS to children and/or caregivers
Previous experience in Saida and/or Beirut
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCES
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and measures
Knowledge of child protection minimum standard
SKILLS:
Fluent in Arabic and English.
Knowledgeable using Excel and Word documents for reporting and attendance

Responsibilities:
Facilitate structured psychosocial support sessions for children and caregivers based on CESVI’s approved PSS methodologies, ensuring sessions are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with the UNRWA Recreational Activities Resource Guide.
Prepare weekly session plans, required materials, and group activities to promote emotional expression, resilience, coping skills, and positive social interaction.
Maintain accurate attendance, ensure consistent participation for all 6 sessions, and create a safe and supportive environment for beneficiaries.
Conduct pre/post assessments
Identify children and caregivers showing distress or protection concerns, and refer them to the specialized partners following the agreed referral pathways.
Immediately report any unsafe situations, or safeguarding concerns, maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to PSEA and Child Safeguarding policies.
Ensure proper documentation of sessions, attendance, observations, and referrals, and submit weekly reports on time.
Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, capacity-building trainings, and program briefings as required.
Ensure all activities are delivered following Do No Harm, conflict sensitivity, and inclusivity principles, respecting cultural and gender considerations.
