About the USAID-Funded Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity in Lebanon:
The USAID-funded Lebanon Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity, implemented by Chemonics International, through its locally registered entity Chemonics Beirut SARL, aims to develop rural economies in Lebanon through support to the agro-food sector and other industries to unlock local and export sales potential while also creating jobs and increasing farmers' and workers' incomes.
The USAID-funded Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) activity is inviting fruits and vegetables traders and exporters to submit their application in resposne to this Expression of Interest for Pre-Qualifications to carry out “Global Gap Pre-Certification Services” including program management support, exporter and farmer mobilization, agricultural trainings, and targeted technical assistance across Lebanon.
This is an 18-months intervention across Lebanon, that will support a minimum of five traders/exporters and will outreach, mobilize, train, and evaluate farmers, conduct targeted assessments for “graduated” farmers, and oversee the provision of in-kind assistance, and certification processes. ARE anticipates enrolling a minimum of 80 farmers in this Global GAP scheme.
Only those interested parties submitting a response to this request for EOI that is furthermore accepted by ARE will be considered to be enrolled in this Global Gap Training and Market Access program.
