Business Advisor - South Lebanon

Chemonics International, a global consulting and international development firm, seeks a Business Advisor for the anticipated USAID Lebanon Enterprise Development (LED) program. The project will work to increase employment opportunities for Lebanese citizens through facilitating the provision of business development services to Lebanese firms, enabling them to expand their activities, increase sales and create jobs. The three components of the project aim to: Increase the competitiveness and enhance the growth of Lebanese client firms Improve Lebanon’s business enabling environment Communicate results through outreach and share project knowledge with the public and private sectors Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Strengthening or establishing new institutions and structures for economic growth Work with local stakeholders to identify impediments to economic growth for client firms Identify areas of improvement in capacity building of Lebanese firms Apply qualitative analysis to analyze the business enabling environment in Lebanon for small and medium sized enterprises, and identify opportunities and solutions for improvements Perform all other relevant duties that may be needed to ensure the overall efficient implementation of the projects activities Qualifications: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar field Recent experience working with USAID or other international projects strongly preferred Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create trusting and professional relationships with business owners and community members Masters of Business Administration, or equivalent Master’s degree in finance, economics, or another relevant field Hands-on business experience with Lebanese firms Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to be flexible to changing priorities and responsibilitie Demonstrated leaderships, integrity and versatility Fluency in English, and excellent written and oral communication skills
