Contruction Manager

Chemonics International Inc, a leading international development consulting company, seeks candidates for an anticipated three year Water Infrastructure Support and Enhancement program in Lebanon funded by USAID. This program will enhance Lebanon’s capacity in the management of water resources through water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades and related management support. The project will provide engineering, procurement, construction supervision and capacity building services to enhance water supply infrastructure and services. The construction manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget a variety of construction and rehabilitation projects. Schedule, coordinate and supervise all design and construction processes from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with engineers, architects, and others who are involved in the process. Given the designs for projects, the construction manager will supervise the planning, scheduling, and implementation of those designs.  The construction manager may also manage the selection of general contractors and trade contractors to complete specific phases of the project.   Qualifications: • Engineering degree, civil or mechanical • Minimum 15 years experience in supervision, monitoring, and management of design and implementation of water and wastewater and/or hydro mechanical construction works of similar magnitude and complexity • Practical construction experience required. • Demonstrated knowledge of Lebanese construction laws and business practices, and knowledge of management of local construction contracts. • Experience assessing water utility networks and implementing innovative solutions to fill gaps in potable water and wastewater infrastructure. • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with public and private organizations and stakeholder • Fluent Arabic and oral and written English language proficiency required
