Chemonics International, a global consulting and international development firm, seeks a deputy chief of party for the anticipated USAID Lebanon Enterprise Development (LED) program. The project will work to increase employment opportunities for Lebanese citizens through facilitating the provision of business development services to Lebanese firms, enabling them to expand their activities, increase sales and create jobs. The three components of the project aim to:
Increase the competitiveness and enhance the growth of Lebanese client firms
Improve Lebanon’s business enabling environment
Communicate results through outreach and share project knowledge with the public and private sectors
The deputy chief of party (DCOP) will play a key role in supporting the technical approach for the LED program. The DCOP will work closely with the chief of party to develop, coordinate and implement technical activities and supervise staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to technical design and monitor implementation of project work plan
Promote synergy, unity of vision and coherence of activities in all technical components, crosscutting concerns, and geographic areas of focus, with special attention to capacity building. Specific component of the program include: creating jobs by increasing the competitiveness of Lebanese client firms, increasing growth potential of Lebanese client firms through a focus on capacity building, improving Lebanon’s business enabling environment, and actively communicating with the public and private sectors to share knowledge and results
Oversee delivery and timeliness for project deliverables
Develop partnerships with partner donors, implementers, NGOs and stakeholders to foster collaboration in various areas of operation
Provide on the job mentorship in order to ensure transfer of skills and long0term sustainability of project initiatives
Qualifications:
Graduate Degree or equivalent in business, finance, economics, public administration, or another relevant field preferred
Minimum five years of relevant work experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience working with USAID or other international donor project s
Interest working in a multicultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
