Driver / Field Expeditor

Chemonics International Inc. seeks candidates for a three year Water Infrastructure Support and Enhancement (WISE) program in Lebanon funded by USAID. The program will enhance Lebanon’s capacity in the management of water resources through water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades and related management support. The project will provide engineering, procurement, construction, supervision and capacity building services for the purposes of enhancement of the water and wastewater infrastructure conditions and management in Lebanon. The driver / field expeditor will drive a project vehicle daily as assigned including scheduled field trips, project-related transportation throughout Lebanon, and other driving assignments as required. Other tasks include: cleaning assigned vehicle daily; checking the vehicles weekly and conducting preventative maintenance as necessary to ensure that the vehicle is operational and safe to drive; initiate any repairs required, perform emergency repairs, maintain records on vehicle routing and vehicle condition, ensure passenger safety by obeying traffic laws and driving carefully; carry out certain procedures for clearing project commodities from customs; handle passport-related matters for short-term consultants upon their arrival in Lebanon; move office furniture from one place to another; deliver checks to vendors and subcontractors in coordination with Finance and the Procurement Specialist; retrieve missing documentation; and other tasks as necessary. Qualifications: • A valid driver's license is required • A good driving record and understanding of auto mechanics are required • A minimum of primary level schooling to ensure literacy is required • Good physical health is required • Availability for overtime work and field travel is necessary • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity • Excellent level of English language • Must be authorized to work in Lebanon.
