Circuna

About

No child without a smile!
Circuna is a Palestinian circus project in Lebanon. It started in September 2007 and will run as long as the dream of Palestinian circus in Lebanon lasts. Circuna has funding for three years(2007-2010) from the Swedish Government1. The project is carried out by Clowns without Borders,
First year: A Team of Trainers (19 people) is formed by talented Palestinian youths from camps and gatherings all over the country. For one year, the Team trains circus, clowning, physical theatre, pedagogy and administration, to become more and more skilled and independent.
Second year: The Team starts their own Circuna groups for children in their camps and gatherings. Together with circus artists from Europe, they put together shows and tour in the camps.
Third year: The Team of Trainers provides artistic and psychosocial activities through circus, for NGOs. The team is rewarded for their skills and become and independent cultural force, creating sustainability to the activities.
