“Engineer Wash - South Lebanon

 JOB DESCRIPTION CISP Lebanon is recruiting a full-time Engineer based in MARJAYOUN to be involved in the implementation of WASH projects for Syrian Refugees and Affected Populations in South Lebanon. Main areas of responsibility (in coordination with CISP Project Coordination and CISP Area Manager): •             Supporting CISP to the achievement of the Expected Results of the WASH projects for Syrian Refugees and Affected Populations to be implemented in South Lebanon; •              Contact to and co-operation with relevant local authorities; •             Ongoing strategic planning and development of the WASH projects to be implemented in South Lebanon; Specific duties: •              The Engineer collaborates with CISP Project Coordinator in the implementation of the WASH projects in terms of: 1.            The Engineer is involved in the co-ordination with all actors related to the implementation of the project; 2.             The Engineer is responsible for documentation of all conducted activities; 3.            The Engineer is responsible to follow all the instructions and the pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; 4.             Other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager and agreed upon.   •             Collecting all the needed data and/or information related to the projects; •             Performing detailed needs assessment of water and sanitation situation in the selected area, identifying beneficiaries and recommending appropriate interventions (e.g. WASH facilities refurbishment, supply and installation of water tanks; distribution of NFIs; etc…) to improve their living conditions; •             Finalizing all the needed agreements among the concerned actors (e.g. CISP, beneficiaries and tenants and/or any other potential stakeholders involved during the implementation of the projects); •             Design the WASH interventions (Drawings, Technical Specification and Bill of Quantity) according to the assessed needs; •             Cooperate with the technical officers of the local partner and the enrolled consultants during the needs assessment and technical design phases; •             Procurement activities (including Technical Specifications and Bill of Quantities for supply and works contracts); •             Performing timely supervision visits to all project sites under construction to ensure that works are done according to the design and mistakes are promptly corrected and a report made to CISP Project Coordinator. •             Organization and monitoring of some activities in the building sites, including detailed needs assessment; •             Creating a database to locate the beneficiary households and the exact needs for the most vulnerable; •             Checking of each material that have to be utilized for the implementation of the works before their installation in order to ensure the following up of the technical specifications of the works provided by CISP and to strictly follow the CISP Project Coordinator advices; •             Preparing weekly progress reports (e.g. measurements of the performed works); Base office: Marjaayoun Report to: Project Coordinator and Area Manager Personal qualities: •             Ability to work both independently and as a team member •             Excellent communications skills •             Ability to work in different cultural environments   Submission guidelines: Interested candidates must forward: an updated CV (in English) complete with at least 3 professional references and their full contacts (name, organization/company, position, telephone number, email address);please, note that the successful candidate MUST have a valid driving license. The salary will be proposed on the base of the effective capacity and experience of the selected candidate, considering the salary scale of the Organization and the one set by the Donor (UNHCR) for Implementing Partners.
