Head of English

Role Mission

We are looking for an ambitious, organised, enthusiastic and energetic English teacher to join our team in Beirut on a full-time basis as “Head of English”. Our English curriculum is designed by Codi’s Head of English ; and it is built to complement and assist the Core technical programme. Consequently, our students have varied English levels (currently taught in 3 groups: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced).

We are looking for someone who is adaptable and flexible in their approach and able to understand the requirements of each individual student. We want our graduates to leave Codi with the employability skills to survive in a competitive market, including full English proficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct structured English lessons for 3 groups of English levels, in coordination with an English assistant
• Manage the two English teachers in other Codi locations (Tripoli and Zahle) to ensure that all cohorts are well-equipped and in sync
• Maintain the Codi English curriculum and think innovatively to introduce necessary developments
• Align English sessions with the Core programme, ensuring it compliments the necessary skills
• Assist students with English-related professional endeavours (e.g. presentations, CVs)
• Maintain and update records for each student and use this to ascertain key trends and requirements for sessions

Profile Qualifications and Requirements

• English teacher with native or fluent English level, with the necessary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in teaching English to a diverse demographic (Native speaker preferred) 
• Fervent desire and passion for teaching
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good managerial skills, as well as ability to participate within a multidisciplinary team
• Able to foster rapid improvement in students’ spoken and written English capabilities
• Enthusiastic, well-organised, efficient and flexible
• Willing to act autonomously as needed and think innovatively

Schedule & Remuneration

• Full-time (5 days a week, 9am-5pm), on premises in Codi Beirut HQ
