The Country Program Coordinator will be a key figure in the management and coordination of all program operations in Lebanon, ensuring the effective implementation of emergency activities, compliance with the organization's regulations and values, and maintaining strong collaboration with local partners, government institutions and other humanitarian actors.
Objectives of the role The Country Program Coordinator will be responsible for: 1. Coordinate and manage the operational and strategic activities of the emergency program in Lebanon, with a specific focus on field activities 2. Ensure compliance with project objectives, monitoring progress and ensuring that activities are in line with project timelines, budget and guidelines.
3. Represent the organization to key stakeholders (NGOs, UN agencies, local governments and donors).
4. Manage donor relations, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and timely narrative and financial reporting.
5. Support and develop the capacity of local staff, ensuring effective management of human resources.
6. Identify funding opportunities and propose new projects based on the evolution of the crisis.
1.Key Responsibilities
-Program Planning and Management - Plan, implement and monitor all project activities in coordination with the project team.
- Develop detailed work plans and monitor the progress of activities against the objectives set.
- Ensure effective management of the project budget, in line with the organization and donor guidelines.
2. Coordination and Collaboration
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local partners, international organizations, donors, government bodies and beneficiary communities.
- Participate in inter-agency coordination meetings, sector working groups and relevant humanitarian platforms.
- Facilitate the flow of information between field staff and headquarters.
Monitoring and Evaluation - Oversee ongoing project monitoring and ensure that data is collected and analyzed regularly to inform management decisions.
- Coordinate evaluation activities, ensuring that the results are used to improve the quality of the program.
4. Human Resources Management –
Coordinate and supervise the project team, ensuring effective management of human resources.
- Provide support in the selection and training of local staff, creating opportunities for their professional growth.
- Ensure that all staff comply with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Required - Minimum of 5 years' experience in humanitarian program management roles, of which at least 3 in complex emergency contexts, preferably in the Middle East.
- Proven skills in project management, including planning, implementation and monitoring.
- Excellent knowledge of humanitarian issues and political and economic dynamics in Lebanon and/or the Syrian context.
- Experience in managing international donor funds, including reporting and budget management (e.g. ECHO, USAID, UNHCR, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in negotiating and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging and high-risk environments.
- Language skills: Fluent in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
