MEAL Volunteer

Duties and Responsibilities

To assist the MEAL Department with data collection process from the field in both timely and efficient manner, assist with data entry and data inputting, assist in report writings “if requested”, assist other projects/programs as requested, other duties and tasks might be also required.

1. Trainings, Refreshers and Data Collection
   1. Using data collection devices on a daily basis in coordination with the MEAL Team Leader and MEAL Officer for any technical support required;
   2. Support the MEAL Department with Capacity building sessions “Trainings & Refresher”;
   3. Undertaking regular field visits to implement projects activities like routine data collection and support participatory review meetings with communities. Verifying that the data collection tools are functioning properly and able to capture information without compromising data quality;
   4. Assisting project staff in preparing their progress reports, case studies and articles for sharing with other stakeholders as learning materials in accordance with approved reporting formats and timing;
   5. Supporting learning and review meetings at project and national level. This includes supporting preparation of appropriate information/ reports to be shared in such meetings.

1. To support program development processes
   1. Participating in programme development activities like strategy reviews and contextual analysis, baseline studies, other specific studies as required
   2. Actively supporting the broader Concern Lebanon and Concern Worldwide organisational initiatives within the context of knowledge management, planning monitoring and evaluation and sharing innovations and learning from Concern interventions.

1. To ensure the effectiveness of Concern accountability mechanisms
   1. Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct;
   2. Support the promotion of the standards outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct to the team and to the beneficiaries, and contributing to providing a safe working environment;
   3. Support Concern’s work in Lebanon by undertaking other tasks as appropriate and required.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience and Attitude Required

1. Education
   • University student or a Degree holder preferably in Statistics, Computer Sciences, or Social Sciences;
   • Relevant Diplomas and short courses in project planning and management, M&E, Community Development;

1. Job related Experience and Knowledge
   • At least 18 months experience working with M&E field tools;
   • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding the information derived from the various monitoring tools and needs assessment conducted;
   • Prior work experience with local/international non-profit organizations;
   • Excellent word processing skills and experience in Microsoft Office programmes like Outlook, Word, Power Point, Access and especially Excel;
   • Excellent writing skills and fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic;
   • Ability to multi-task on a variety of different projects and level of projects and  the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
   • Strong people skills, high enthusiasm, great attitude, and proven ability to function well in a team-oriented environment; Detail oriented;
   • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Ability to give presentations to a range of audiences, including community stakeholders and donors;
   • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and challenging environment, with strong time-management skills.
