Job Summary
Protection Team Leader, with the guidance of the Protection Program Manager, is responsible for implementation and management of Concern’s protection projects in Akkar and North Governorates in Lebanon.
Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development
a) In collaboration with the Protection Program Manager and the Protection Team develop protection strategy;
b) In collaboration with the Protection Program Manager design protection activities in accordance with the protection strategy (including but not limited to: community-based protection, awareness raising and training, engaging men in addressing gender based violence, youth and child focused protection activities);
c) In collaboration with the Protection Program Manager, develop a monitoring and evaluation system for the protection program which contributes to continual learning and program quality;
d) Participate in the design and application of Quality and Accountability initiatives (i.e. Complaints Response Mechanism).
Program Management
a) Under the guidance of the Protection Program Manager, ensure that the program is being implemented in accordance with objectives agreed with the donor, Concerns’ policies and best practices.
b) Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans and ensure the follow up.
Reporting and Information Management
a) Ensure that Concern’s and donors’ reporting commitments are met, including weekly, monthly, quarterly reports as necessary in accordance with Concern’s systems and procedures and those of donors;
b) Ensure that collected project data are properly stored and analysed.
Representation and Coordination
a) In coordination with the Protection Program Manager participate in protection sector working groups and task force on Governorate and national level;
b) In collaboration with Protection Program Manager coordinate protection project activities with different protection stakeholders.
Staff Management
a) Participate in the recruitment of Protection staff;
b) Train Protection staff and support them in fulfilment of their tasks;
c) Supervise Protection Staff’s daily activity in the field and in the office;
d) Supervise Protection volunteers daily activities in the field and in the office;
e) Evaluate Protection staff’s work performance in accordance with Concern administrative procedures.
Partnership and Capacity Building
a) Explore and assessing the possibility of working with local partners;
b) Provide training, mentoring and support to local stakeholders and partners as relevant in order to strengthen local capacity and sustainability.
Financial Management
a) Assist Protection Program Manager in the budget planning, revision and management on a regular basis in coordination with the Finance team to ensure that the Protection expenditure is accurate.
Work Ethic
Adhere to Concern’s Program Participant Protection Policy (PPPP) and Concern’s Code of Conduct;
Support and promote Concern’s Program Participant Protection Policy (PPPP) and Concern Code of Conduct to Protection team and Concern’s other departments, partner organizations and beneficiaries;
Be committed to provide a safe working environment and contribute to reducing potential for abuse.
Job Requirements
Degree in the social sciences: Psychology, Social Work, etc.;
Knowledge and experience of working in the field of protection;
Knowledge and experience in participatory methods for community development and mobilization;
Knowledge and experience of SGBV, CP and PwSN fields;
Excellent communication skills, including training and facilitation;
Demonstrated team leading ability;
Excellent information technology skills;
Diplomacy, assertiveness and cultural sensitiveness;
Fluency in English and Arabic.
