Concern Worldwide, an international NGO that started working in Akkar in August 2014, is starting a new and exciting Protection Program and is looking for a short term consultant to train the team.
Purpose of the Training Consultancy
The purpose of the training is to enable Concern’s protection team to facilitate effective workshops.
Timeline
- 2 day training session during the month of August. The specific dates to be confirmed by the Protection Programme Manager.
Terms of Reference
Prepare a 2 day training for Concern’s protection staff. Provide the training plan and material in English to the Protection Manager a minimum of one week prior to the training, for feedback and subsequently include agreed upon changes. Training sessions to include (but not limited to) the following topics:
Designing an effective workshop (including the importance of objectives, adult learning theory; effective facilitation tools (role plays, brainstorming etc; time management);
Managing group dynamics (soliciting responses on sensitive topics, avoiding group think, managing various personality types, creating buy in, listening skills)
Decision making and problem solving techniques
Closing a session
2. Implement the training with 20 Concern employees in Arabic (in an engaging, memorable and participatory manner).
Essential Skills, Qualifications, Experience Required
Ongoing professional development as evidenced by increased work-related responsibility, continuing education, and/or participation in professional organizations.
Minimum 5 years working experience specifically within training and facilitation.
Fluent English, and Arabic.
