MMU Field Coordinator

The objective of the Project Coordinator position within the Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) project is to coordinate schedules, resources, equipment and information across all project activities and ensure that all milestones are met as the project evolves. The project coordinator shall perform various coordinating duties, like schedule and risk management, as well as administrative tasks, including maintaining project documentation. He/she should develop an in-depth knowledge of the projects’ activities and processes and be a key point of contact for other project staff members on logistics matters.

 

Scope of work

The Field Coordinator will be primarily responsible of the following activities:

 

  • To implement MMU routing plan at regional level and ensure the medical team is delivering services and products as designed by the project manager
  • To lease with municipalities in the targeted villages to prevent barriers during implementation and adjust the action plan according to field challenges
  • To conduct regular field monitoring visits to provide support to medical team and ensure quality implementation
  • To support in data collection for qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation
  • To oversee the work of administrative staff (drivers and hub assistant) to ensure access to targeted villages is facilitated and assets, stock and data collected are properly managed and maintained
  • To establish and maintain networks with existing community structures and regional partners for referral and networking purposes (hospitals and the external laboratories)
  • To attend interagency health coordination working groups and report findings to the project manager
  • To represent NGO at regional level with stakeholders and local authorities
  • To facilitate the access of NGO headquarter team to the field and make necessary steps to ensure security and safety
  • To support in procurement at local level when needed and validate goods and services are received within the specifications required
  • To prepare monthly reports as requested by the project manager
  • To relocate or face a longer commute when required.

Essential Minimum Qualification

  • Advanced university degree in management,  (with a project management experience) or relevant fields
  • At least 5 years of proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or related position
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in managing human resources
  • An ability to develop and interpret schedules, flowcharts and action plans
  • Strong organizational skills, including time-management and multitasking
  • Knowledge and exposure to the social and cultural values of the region
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge in Arabic and English
