CBECE Teacher Assistant
Purpose and Objective of the Role:
The purpose of the Early Childhood Education Teacher Assistant role is to support the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of young children. The role involves assisting with the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate educational activities, ensuring individualized support for children with diverse needs and contributing to the overall success of the early learning program.

Responsibilities:
- Classroom support: assist the lead teacher in preparing and organizing learning materials and setting up activities
- Assist in managing classroom routines and behavior, fostering a positive and structured learning environment
- Prepare and organize learning materials, visual aids and educational resources required for daily activities
- Engagement: support individual and small groups of students with learning activities, ensuring children are engaged and actively participating
- Supervise children during playtime, meals and transition periods, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
- Record-keeping: help document students’ progress and attendance, providing insights on children’s learning and behavior
- Participate in meetings and training sessions
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized and visually engaging classroom environment
Qualifications and requirements:
- Highschool diploma, or related experience in the field
- Previous experience working with young children in a classroom or community setting, preferably in early childhood education or humanitarian contexts
