Key functions of the profile sought:The Project Manager will work within an international team and lead a team of consultant spanning the region, and effectively liaise with local private/public institutions.The Project Manager shall manage initiatives focusing on business development and capacity building as part of a regional program to promote economic livelihoods, resilience and social cohesion of Syrian refugee populations and host communities in Turkey, Lebanon and KRG.
Program development and management:• Manage livelihoods promotion initiatives within a multi-country program, ensuring the coherence between planned activities and coordination arrangements as outlined in the proposal documents;• Coordinate and supervise a team of local staff and a pool of consultants based in Lebanon, Turkey, KRG and remote;• Support the elaboration of systems of project implementation, tracking and sub-granting processes in support to Syrian and host vulnerable communities;• Provide technical supervision to the program unit, the consultants and the field teams concerning livelihood and business development matters.
Coordination of field activities:• Coordinate and elaborate with the local staff and the consultants the work plans, reports and budgets for all program activities related to livelihood, business development and capacity building;• Elaborate appropriate strategies to ensure efficient use of available resources and their allocation to sub-grantees, supplier and partners
Monitoring and evaluation:• Conduct timely monitoring of the livelihood program progress; ensure on-going monitoring and monthly reviews of work plans;• Undertake reporting activities, providing guidelines and thorough support to support staff and consultants as needed.
Communications and information flow:• Coordinates with and ensures linkages and synergies among COSV programs in the region;• Draft reports and review activity and financial draft reports related to the livelihood agenda;• Write down briefings on achievements, synthesize best practices and lessons learnt to be shared with partners, staff, and donor as well as external partners.
Requirements:• 3 to 5 years of work experience coordinating international, multi-country teams• 1 to 3 years of work experience in a similar position, dealing with at least one of the following topics: - Business development in Middle East and/or Turkey - Economic integration and social cohesion of refugee communities - Market analysis, job-market promotion and relevant policy-making - Social enterprise modelling in post-conflict environments - Capacity building, VETs and liaison with institutional bodies• Strategic capacity to analyze complex environments, assessing risks and needs from a variety of sources;• High interpersonal skills with a strong attitude towards problem solving and team work;• Background knowledge of the Syrian crisis, its impact and core challenged at regional level;• Previous experience in M&E and team management;• Previous experience in project management and/or sub-granting is mandatory;• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic. Turkish is an asset.
