Post:                                         Project Manager Location:                                 Beirut, Lebanon Reporting to:                             COSV General Director Duration of the contract:           9 months   Job description   Key functions of the sought profile:   -          Manage and coordinate project activities, from substantive, administrative and financial points of view, applying strategic planning and systematic coordination of project activities. -          Contribute to the strategic leadership, overall management and advisory support for COSV programs in MENA; -          Coordinate the field activities with partners and beneficiaries; -          Conduct effective supervision and monitoring, and offer evaluation support; -          Run an effective system of communications and information flow among field, partners and team;   1.      Strategic leadership, overall management and advisory support Ensure the coherence between field activities and project strategy. Provide overall field oversight, specifically with respect to issues of alignment with priorities and needs that may arise from the ground in Syria; Establish systems for project planning, implementation, and monitoring in line with the COSV strategy for the Middle East and the support to the civil society in Syria; Supervise the field officers on the field;   2.      Effective supervision, monitoring and evaluation support   Support the timely monitoring of the project progress from a field perspective, ensure on-going monitoring and monthly reviews of work plans;  Provide field notes, activity reports and financial reports; Advise on upcoming risks and risks management, with knowledge of ongoing trends in the field;   3.      Communications and information flow among field, partners and team   Coordinate between all COSV programs in the Middle East and ensure linkage and synergy between them Consult with external partners that are engaged in complementary activities to enhance coordination and partnership among stakeholders; Report and review official notes and white papers for internal use as well as to be submitted to the Donor; Collect and review material and information coming from the beneficiaries on the ground, making it accessible to the relevant COSV staff; Write down briefings on project achievements and documents, synthesize best practices and lessons learnt from them, then share them with staff, donors as well as external partners; Perform other tasks as assigned by the COSV General Director.   Minimum requirements   ü   Arab  candidate  with outstanding field knowledge of the region in particular Syrian context, outreach and previous professional experience on the ground, ü  At least two years of work experience in a similar position, dealing with at least one of the following topics: Support and capacity building to Civil Society Organizations   Sustainable Development Peacebuilding and dialogue among communities Livelihoods and resilience promotion in complex emergency situations ü  Proven strategic capacity in analyzing complex environments, assessing risks and needs from a variety of sources; ü  High interpersonal skills with a strong analytical approach in problem solving and management; ü  Background knowledge of the main humanitarian and development actors currently active in Syria; ü  Previous experience in M&E and team management; ü  Previous experience in remote project management and/or sub-granting is an asset; ü  Arabic speaker, excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;   Application Interested candidates meeting the above described qualifications should send their CV with a short cover letter by 5th of May 2017 to jobs.coopme@gmail.com Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
