Summary of the position:
The Training Coordinator is in charge of the organization, coordination and monitoring of all the trainings of the project. In particular, s/he is in charge of providing assistance in the preparation, coordination, implementation and follow up of all the training sessions foreseen in the project. The Training Coordinator will also be in charge of preparing the tools and the procedures to run the activities concerning the mapping and the monitoring of the Capacity Building initiatives related to the aims of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Elaborate trainings curricula to match and respond to the project needs and priorities
- Elaborate the training methodology, materials and sessions plans targeting the capacity building needs of the Syrian civil society.
- With the support of the PMU and the Strategic Analyst the Training Coordinator analyzes and go through the priorities arising from the ground related the development of the role of the local Civil Society and develops a capacity-building plan based on a SWOT analysis and assessment.
- Develop of training, learning modules, mentoring, and coaching tools, coordinating with the trainers.
- Compile relevant background reading for participants; participant’s guidelines and handouts for the training activities; agenda, session plans and guide for trainers;
- Supervise the different stages of the capacity building component of the project (assessment, designing, implementation, evaluation, re-adapting the strategy).The Training Coordinator optimizes the consistency of the training provided, and coordinate the work of the different trainers in order to fit the training modules into the general framework.
- To collect, systematize and organize all the material handed-out during the courses, and make it available for future reference.
- Ensure that all necessary requirements for successful training sessions are prepared in a timely manner in coordination with the PMU and the Admin.
- Ensure proper documentation of all training sessions and prepare reports as required
- At the end of each set of trainings, the Training Coordinator systematizes and makes available all the material for the participants.
- The Training Coordinator develops a monitoring methodology that will focus on data collection.
- To engage consultation with key the stakeholders to identify needs and approach to arrive to the elaboration of a framework of evaluation for the Capacity Building initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proved Experience on M&E, assessment and data collection
- Proven record of training delivery and similar experiences
- Report writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to work well in a team setting
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Master university degree preferably in Development Studies, Humanitarian Affairs, Conflict Resolution, Political or Social Science, International Relations, Psychology or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Previous experience working with Syrian civil society and in similar projects is an asset
