JOB DESCRIPTION Summary of the position: In accordance with COSV policy and procedures, the incumbent of the post is required to translate and edit from Arabic to English and vice versa documents related to the ongoing projects, to revise documents and to assist the Project Management Unit in monitoring media outlets regarding the regional context.   Responsibilities: - Translate documents from Arabic to English and vice versa, as required. - Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials. - Revise documents for the field (activities materials), for the Headquarters, and for the donors. - Assist in the production of PowerPoint presentations, posters, tables, graphs, and visual aids. - Check the translation of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout the translation, and update in-house lexicons and editorial lines as required. - Provide consecutive translation during meetings, trainings, etc. as required. - Perform various assigned duties to balance workload. - Remain updated on local and regional events and issues, particularly in relation to project activities. - Be a source of information upon request, e.g. the official terminology used in Beirut, formal titles of institutions and officials locally and internationally, etc. - Register and treat information (general and specific) accurately and with confidentiality. - Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.   Requirements and Qualifications: - University degree in languages, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution. - Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. - Ability to translate accurately from Arabic into English and vice versa. - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic. - Strong organizational and analytical skills. - Proficiency in common computer applications, including Microsoft Office software. - Positive and professional attitude, including ability to work well in a team setting. - Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to details. - Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. - Previous experience working with Civil Society Organizations is an asset.   Required Experience:  3 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably with civil society organizations and/or NGOs and INGOs.   Education degree: Bachelor Degree.  Field of education: University degree in languages, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
