Communications Specialist

BACKGROUND  The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD) ,originally a five year project , has received a sixteen month extension up to  January 2019, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented under the leadership of DAI Global LLC (DAI). The LIVCD project aims to increase the competitiveness of selected value chains, expand the number of Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises that can compete in selected markets, improve linkages between those firms and other actors throughout the value chain, increase the gross value of products and services in local and export markets, and expand exports.  OBJECTIVES  The Communications Specialist will produce a range of project information for internal and external stakeholders including project staff and management, USAID, project partners and beneficiaries.The Communications Specialist is responsible for the production of contractually mandated reports and publications that communicate LIVCD’s goals, objectives, results and impact. SPECIFIC TASKS Create reports to LIVCD management and USAID through production of contractually mandated project reports (Weekly Report, Quarterly and Annual Report), including gathering available information, analysis, and production of the deliverable according to client specifications  Assist in the response to periodic requests from the client for special project-related information, and produce other intermittent and special reports as requested by USAID Ensure Knowledge sharing for LIVCD staff (LIVCD Library, media monitoring, LIVCD Glossary, LIVCD Project overview, internal newsletter, develop training materials and train LIVCD staff on communications tasks as necessary) Develop and maintain latest versions of logos, banners, templates for letterhead/Powerpoint and make these available to staff Review Consultant Reports and other reports requested by the client for compliance with branding/marking requirements Collaborate with grants team to review all LIVCD Grant Marking and Visibility Plan Carry out other duties that are consistent with overall focus of the assignment as assigned by the Chief of Party.  QUALIFICATIONS A Master’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a similarly related field A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in communications for internationally funded development programs Experience with and knowledge of USAID reporting requirements is preferred Experience managing a team of local staff and excellent personnel management skills; ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and of different multi-cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated strong problem solving skills as well as exceptional customer relations; sound business judgment. Fluency in English , French and Arabic  Supervision  The Communications Specialist will work under the direction and report to the Chief of Party.
