Engineer (Junior)

Lebanon Water Project (LWP)  Scope of Work  Engineer (Junior), Short Term Position   Background: The USAID-funded Lebanon Water Project (LWP) is a five year project that works to increase reliable and sustainable access to potable water for Lebanese citizens; improve water management practices and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public water utilities, while raising awareness on sustainable water use practices and promote better water governance to help assure long-term protection of Lebanon’s water resources.   General Objective: The Engineer (Junior) will work under the oversight of the Senior Engineer to ensure infrastructure projects are designed with best practices and linked to development goals of the project and its stakeholders. S/he will work closely with the regional water establishments and local engineering firms.   Responsibilities: Work alongside the Senior Engineer to ensure that infrastructure and repair projects identified by the Regional Water Establishments contribute to development goals Assist with bid process, including negotiation and award of subcontracts with local engineering and construction firms Follow up on construction progress and conduct site visits Support with document control Other tasks as assigned   Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent qualification Relevant advanced degree preferred 0 – 3 years of relevant working experience preferred Demonstrated communications and presentation skills Fluency in Arabic and English is required   Qualified candidates should email their CV to LWPRecruit@dai.com with the subject line “LWP-Engineer Junior” in the subject line.
