Security Coordinator, Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development Project (LIVCD) About DAI DAI is an international development company working in around 60 developing and transition countries throughout the world. DAI provides crisis mitigation and stability operations, democratic governance and public sector management, agriculture and agribusiness, private sector development and financial services, economics and trade, health and water and natural resources management. In Lebanon DAI is providing water management and private sector development programs. Objective of the programme: The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development Project (LIVCD) is designed to assist the Lebanese private sector and selected NGOs and Foundations to improve the competitiveness of selected value chains in rural areas of Lebanon. LIVCD main office is in Beirut, Sin-el Fil area and there are regional offices in Saida, Jezzine, Zahle and Tripoli. Objective of the role: We are seeking applications in the field of security risk management at an operational level to help manage the security and safety of the LIVCD team in Lebanon.  Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee and manage security information including the verification, analysing and distribution to LIVCD staff. Oversee and manage drivers and vehicles including travel to the regions ensuring briefings are conducted for drivers and staff before travel. Act as the Security Focal Point (SFP) on the ground for DAI’s Department of Global Security Oversee logistics for project events and ensure that all project logistics needs are met. Assist in managing logistic supports for staff and visitors such as air and land travel, hotel arrangements, and travel documentation, Responsible for managing the project motor pool. Security Duties: Including but not limited to the following: Implement and maintain DAI’s security strategy, policies, plans and procedures Maintain and operationalize the DAI Crisis & Incident Management Plan Conduct Security Risk assessments of travel routes, project offices and residences / hotels Forecast risk events and preemptive mitigations Implement a travel management and risk monitor plan Gather security information and establish a network for information Provide incident reports utilizing the Incident Management Plan Provide management training on security awareness and crisis management and instill a culture of security among project staff Provide weekly security briefings to the COP’s and all project staff Provide DAI briefings for all incoming staff and situational briefings when requested. Provide weekly and monthly situational reports to DGS home Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience in security management with either the police / military / civilian entity in Lebanon of 5 years Excellent verbal and written English skills Competent in the use of Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Powerpoint Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage staff and to work with international staff A methodical approach to security risk management Desired Qualifications College degree or University degree preferred Previous experience working with an international development organization, Embassies or international NGO’s Demonstrated understanding of the role of a security manager in the context of development work A network of previous experience in which to gain information in order to inform our staff and to keep our staff safe Any relevant security management training or courses will be advantageous Length of the assignment1 year How to apply:Please send in a covering letter and CV to lebanonvaluechains@dai.com
