Value Chain Manager

BACKGROUND The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD), originally a five-year project started in September 2015, has received a sixteen month extension to January 2019. LIVCD is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by DAI Global LLC (DAI). The LIVCD project aims to increase the competitiveness of selected value chains, expand the number of Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises that can compete in selected markets, improve linkages between those firms and other actors throughout the value chain, increase the gross value of products and services in local and export markets,: and expand exports.   OBJECTIVES The Value Chain Manager will oversee and implement value chain upgrading strategies and Interventions as detailed in the work plan. S/he will collaborate with Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, Value Chain Coordinators, and technical managers to provide technical assistance and determine viable organizations to receive financial assistance.   SPECIFIC TASKS Implement all activities within the approved Value Chain Work Plan. . Oversee implementation of ongoing value chain activities. Insure collection of M&E data related to implemented, ongoing, and future value chain activities. Work with Grants Team to insure proper disposition all granted items. Follow up on implemented grants to insure proper implementation by beneficiaries and VC coordinators. Coordinate with all stakeholders to insure proper handover and sustainability of all activities.  Provide direct technical assistance to value chain actors to assist in upgrading activities and overseeing implementation. Implement recommendations for farmers and MSMEs to partner with financial institutions resulting in increasing access to and use of financial services within the region and determine viable opportunities for organizations to prepare all required applications, loan documents, and business plans for LIVCD and other financial assistance. Develop and maintain relationships with program staff and senior management, public and private sector partners, and value chain actors. Prepare all required reports for submission to USAID, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc requests and create success stories based on successful interventions. Other duties as directed by the Chief of Party. Oversee management of LIVCD’s Zahle office including office operation, procurement, staff management, attendance, trip approvals and other logistical issues.   SUPERVISION The Value Chain Manager will work under the direction and report to the Chief of Party
