Accountability Assistant

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as an Accountability Assistant. Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Ensure Feedback forms received regularly from the field offices are entered promptly into the database• Ensure boxes and visibility items at field level are in place and maintained and that information submitted by phone or email (when assigned) are entered promptly into the database• Travel to field offices to ensure the data collection process is coherent and follows the same methodology• Build capacity of respective field staff – Conduct training sessions for staff on the Code of Conduct and DRC Feedback mechanism• Ensure coherence, investigate missing data and report issues of concern to supervisor and Provide overviews over trends in number of complaints submitted• Liaise with the M&E team in the field to roll out beneficiary accountability assessments and ensure support to field staff on technical aspects of accountability to beneficiaries;• Provide progress to the Accountability Improvement Plan as well as Risk, Compliance and Accountability work plans;• Ensure high levels of inclusion of beneficiaries’ views in the way data is collected and processed• Organize and document focus group discussions and awareness raising sessions with beneficiaries to outline feed-back mechanisms and incorporate responses into revisions of the mechanisms• Investigate allegations of irregularities, fraud, corruption or other forms of misconduct by directly liaising with the affected beneficiaries in close collaboration with the supervisor About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Bachelor’s level qualification in relevant field (e.g. Anthropology, Law, Psychology)• At least 1-3 years’ relevant experience• Solid knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods• Knowledge of participatory approaches to community engagement an asset• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills• Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate• Ability to cope with stress, work under pressure often to strict deadlines• Proficient spoken and written Arabic and English• Knowledge of the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership an asset• Previous experience with an NGO desirable• Willingness to work long hours and travel to all project sites regularly We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant contract until 20th of May 2016, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from January 2016 and be willing and able to work in Beirut with frequent travel to the field.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
